Wow. Was last night a rush or what? Those Toronto Blue Jays kept us on our toes. What a game!
So now we have a new series, which may result in seven games against the Texas Rangers (2015 bat flip nostalgia). If you’re a lucky fan, you have tickets. But if you’re like me and you’re simply planning to watch from the neighbourhood pub or the living room couch, here are some awesome Jay’s rooting sippers you can indulge in:
DIY: Blueberry Tea
This is blue-tastically fun! Run out and buy some blueberries right now. I originally stumbled upon this recipe on Leaf.tv. All you need is blueberries, honey and some water (I’m not a fan of milk, cream or sugar in my tea but it’s always optional). Grab a 100 pack of tea bags at DAVIDsTEA and pop in your blueberries. Boil water, and pour it into a mug with some honey and your tea bag. Steep and enjoy (and chant go Jays go)!
Neighbourhood Pub: Firkin on Yonge
Firkin on Yonge is my neighbourhood pub I flock to for all sports-related events. Why? Because there’s oh so many TVs and, because many people including myself won’t let summer go, there’s still a patio open that has not one, but two large screen TVs broadcasting every game. When feeling celebratory I order a glass of Prosecco, however there are drink specials every night on wines, beers and cocktails, so you really can’t go wrong.
Living Room Sipper: Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc
I find any excuse to recommend this beer. Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc is one of my longtime favourites, and because it’s blue, it’s obviously a Blue Jays drinking beer, right? This beer is full of citrus notes and is just all around refreshing. Every sip has a zing to it that makes you fall in love with it even more. I’ll be grabbing a six-pack of these for game one!
