Rainy Day Activity: Mastering the Hot Toddy

Boy is it a yucky day outside today. While stuck inside bored (even after baking, cooking, cleaning and going to the gym), I decided to go through our bar and work on crafting  a rainy day cocktail I haven’t yet tried.

img_4889For my Sunday hot toddy, I used Jack Daniel’s 150 Anniversary Whiskey. Other ingredients included:

  • Honey
  • Vanilla
  • Cinnamon
  • Lemon juice
  • Hot water

While boiling some water in my kettle, I combined 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of honey and a drop of vanilla in each cup. Next, I measured one shot of Jack Daniel’s for each cup and stirred together. I then poured the boiling water into the cups and continued to stir. Topped it off with a sprinkle of cinnamon and it was ready to sip!

What a great cocktail for this cold, wet day.
